Weekly Group Rides & Yellow Jersey Ride

GROUP RIDES
Wednesday Group Road Ride this week will start at Smoky Mountain Bicycles at 5:30pm, we'll be doing the Eliijay Loop.
 
Thursday Beginner Ride will begin at Smoky Mtn Bicycles at 5:30 pm and we will ride on the Greenway.  Comfort, Hybrid, or Mountain bike preferred due to gravel sections on the Greenway.  We have bikes available for use, if you want to introduce folks to riding with group in a casual setting.  Ride will also cover shifting gears and proper riding etiquette.
 
Saturday Road Ride will be the YELLOW JERSEY RIDE beginning at S Macon Elementary on Addington Bridge Road at 8:00 am.  This is the kick-off to the Tour de France.  The Tour de France will be on live everyday at the bike shop if you wanna stop by and getting the latest information on who's leading the race.
 
Sunday Road Ride will begin at Franklin Fitness Center at 10:00 am.  Route to be decided.

Weekly Group Rides

Wednesday Group Road Ride this week will start at S Macon Elementary on Addington Bridge Road at 5:30pm, we'll be doing the Patton Valley Loop
 
Thursday Group Urban Assault Ride has been discontinued for now.
 
Thursday Beginner Ride will begin at Smoky Mtn Bicycles at 5:30 pm and we will ride on the Greenway.  Comfort, Hybrid, or Mountain bike preferred due to gravel sections on the Greenway.  We have bikes available for use, if you want to introduce folks to riding with group in a casual setting.  Ride will also cover shifting gears and proper riding etiquette.

Weekly Group Rides

Wednesday Group Road Ride this week will start at bike shop at 5:30pm.  We will be doing the Burningtown Loop.
 
Thursday Group Urban Assault Ride will begin at Macon County Library at 5:30pm.  All levels of riders are encouraged.  This ride is part off-road and part on-road, so mountain bike is preferred.  Ride lead by Scott Baste.

Weekly Rides & Events

This Saturday in Highlands is the SOAR - Special Operations Adventure Race.  Smoky Mountain Bicycles will have 2 - 2 man teams competing in the Elite 10-12 hour race, which consists of 55 miles of mountain biking, running, canoeing, rappelling, and orienteering.  Race begins at 7am and hopefully will be completed by 5pm-7pm.  Come cheer on the teams.  More information at ww.soarhighlands.org or contact SMB.  Best of luck to Chris Cooper, Wayne McDaniel, Sara Baxter and Pam Forshee.

Weekly Group Rides and Upcoming Events

The Fletcher Flyer is this weekend, beginning at Fletcher Park in Fletcher, NC at 8am.  The century (100mi), metric (64mi), and half century (50mi) have cumulative climbs of 4044, 3037, and 2216 feet, respectively. 

The ride fee is $35 through Friday, May 22nd, $40 through Saturday, June 6th, and $45 on Sunday, June 7th (Ride day).  Extra meals are available at $10.

The first 500 riders to register will receive a pair of DeFeet cycling socks. Register early to make sure you receive the official Fletcher Flyer socks in the size requested.

Smoky Mountain Bicycles will be at Rest Stop #2 on Century Route which is at S Rugby Road. 

GROUP RIDES
Wednesday Group Road Ride this week will start at Smoky Mountain Bicycles at 5:30pm.  We will be doing the Ellijay Out and Back and YES, we're going to the top! (riders can turn around at base of climb at waterfall)
