Date: Ride Location: Rome, GA Distance: Terrain: Start Times: | One of Northwest Georgia's "must do" rides!See the foothills of Northwest Georgia as they were meant to be experienced...by bicycle! The routes wind through back roads of beautiful rolling hills and pastures to some of the most stunning scenery this area has to offer. Cyclists from around the Southeast have commented on the beautiful scenery, helpful staff and great support! The ride consists of 30, 45, 62 and 100-mile options, all on scenic rural roads with very little traffic. The 30 and 45-mile routes are mostly flat to gently rolling, with one moderate climb. The Century route takes both the 62 & 100-milers to Villanow at about mile 30, where the century riders will do a loop that returns them to Villanow. The route contains a couple challenging hills, but no mountains. All options return to the starting point at the Mount Berry Square Mall and are fully sagged. SAG stops approximately every 15 miles with water/sports drink, fruit, PB&J sandwiches, salty and sweet snacks. Ham radio operators at SAG stops for communications. The last sweep of the course is at 5:00 pm. When you return, you can enjoy a post-ride Chick-fil-A chicken sandwich (included in registration fee) and/or purchase a delicious pasta meal for $6.50 per person at Bella Roma Italian Restaurant. The meal will be topped with your choice of marinara or meat sauce.
